A quick snippet about me…after retiring from the Air Force with 20+ years of service, I began my journey of entrepreneurship, which included Gemstone Jewelry, Accessories, Resin Art, Soy Candles, Cold/Hot Process soap, and other skin care products. I was feeling like the butterfly, taking its first flight. Khakuun is the butterfly in all of us…ever evolving, discovering life journeys.🦋

While recuperating from knee surgery, I began creating jewelry with natural stones & stainless steel to keep busy, and due to my own skin sensitivities. I got busy, selling jewelry designs to boutique clients, friends and family, but soon expanded my platform to sell at local seminars, workshops, and traveling in/around the DMV metropolitan area, Hampton Roads, Charleston SC, Hot Springs AR, and the Shreveport/Bossier City LA areas.

As a result of several product reactions within a very short time, I became interested in natural products. Although my skin has always been sensitive, but this time something was different; thereby an EPI pen was subscribed, along with Benadryl, unscented non foaming soaps, and Cetaphil creams. So after a serious series of talks with my physician, I dedicated long-long hours of research on Youtube & Google, and soon discovered a few natural soaps/lotion alternatives to begin experimenting with. I’m naturally creative and love learning so, mixing lotions and potions was right up my alley of having fun!

Making soap/lotions without harsh chemicals or detergents is important to me, especially since my skin is extremely sensitive to topical effects like sunscreen, sun-ray’s, animal hairs, insect bites, grass, fabrics, makeup, and commercial bath/body/perfume products, etc., …in fact, my arms/head are always covered, and I carry an EPI Pen, Men-Phor anti-itch lotion, Benadryl & Cetaphil Lotion/Cleanser wherever I go.

Botanical 318™ brand was established in early 2021 to distinguish my entrepreneur hand-making journey of natural body products…spinning off from my creative first love, Khakuun. The name comes from using botanicals in our products, and as homage to my 2nd home state/town, Bossier City, Louisiana, area code 318. Bossier City, is where the Dennis Krewe have all resided at one time in their life, before taking flight to far and distant lands while serving our nations armed forces. 💜💛💚

Our soap products are simple, gentle, safe, and mindfully formulated with natural, palm oil free, plant based ingredients. We make fresh goods in small batches daily to ensure freshness, and hand-wrapped in sustainably or recyclable packaging; meanwhile, our cold processed soaps cure for a minimum of 6 weeks.

Our candles are made only with the highest quality vegan soy and true to scent fragrance oils. All of our candles feature a cozy, frosted jar, double wick, and pine wood lid. Each candle is hand poured with the highest attention to detail and lovingly housed in a beautiful re-usable glass vessel featuring our logo hand stamped into the lid.

To care for and honor nature, we focus on being Waste Free, Cruelty-Free, and Eco-Friendly. All packaging and ingredients are biodegradable, recyclable, or reusable; which supports our community and the environment we ALL live in.
