We’re Raising Money for a Studio…

Khakuun LLC is a Woman/Minority Veteran owned/operated micro small business, with a passion for making handcrafted goods. Our promising start-up occurred on 31 August 2013 as Butterflies A Unique Boutique, with a Grand Opening of support from family, friends, and the local community; but the Monday before Black Friday…was our last day of in-store operations; it was all over, due to consistent water damage coming from the roof, seeping up under the floor; which wasn’t repaired until February 2014. By then, the damage was done, and I was completely devastated. After 8 months of demanding/waiting for repairs, re-occurring flooding/closings, all the while working with the property owner, the best decision was to vacate this space on 1 March 2014. Needless to say, it took 3+ long years to sell-off inventory, equipment, fixtures, etc., and come clear of this debt; yet, I kept going.

These days I work in the kitchen, dining room, and guest bedroom; while growing a presence on social media, and attending local/state-wide vending events, personal shopping experiences, and crafting custom jewelry/resin/candle designs. Every Day, is work in progress to grow/expand our reach; while providing quality goods at a fair price, and measurable customer service.

COVID-19 brought about drastic changes for all of Us, and Khakuun™ was no exception!  Our Sales plummeted, supplies were hard to find, the mail slowed to a crawl, and manufacturer pricing went up; but together, we weathered the storm, and pushed thru the many setbacks; family deaths, emergencies, and most recently a Thyroid Storm, treatment to removal surgery, and recovery… all while continuing the journey forward.

With this funding, we will expand operations into a retail establishment, increase inventory, improve profitability thru volume ordering of raw materials, to meet production/purchase demands, and implement branding ideas. Khakuun™ will continue focusing on providing a variety of handcrafted natural products, with fair/reasonable pricing, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
